As promised

Here is the carlot wedding story. melanie (N's sister) calls her daddy last Thursday, tells him she is getting married and can she have $100.00 for a new dress. Well, needless to say he is ecstatic over the news (we were sure that no man in his right mind would ever wed her if he wasn't addicted to crack) tells her to come over and he will give her the money. So he then calls everyone he has ever known since grade 3 to tell them the joyish news. When she arrives to pick up her money he wants to know if she is going to the courthouse to get married. That's where he works and he would like to attend if possible.No she says....we're doing it at the carlot. The carlot? She tnes explains that they are getting Jake's sister that works at a carlot to notory(sp) a peice of paper saying they are common law married so she can be on his insurance. Wtf? she needed a new dress for that? Isnt that a romantic story to tell the children? I mean I guess I undestand that they are married (although lawyer Aunt says that no marriage in Al. is recognized unless sanctioned by clergy or jp) but I don't think I would go out of my way to announce to people that I was getting married...or even buy a new dress. It's a used fucking carlot. Then when her father called her on it she said they needed the money for their honeymoon in Destin. classic when your new "commonlaw carlot husband" can't even pay for your honeymoon. Oha nd then when Harry asked why they didn't just get married she said....Jake doesn't want to marry her for a few years because of her ex's credit history. But yet she claims that they are legally married....it sounds to me like he doesn't want to marry her but is too chicken shit to tell her. SHe would probably sit on him.
